Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 June 2026
This policy explains how your personal data is handled when you use ridemuster.app and sign up for early access to RideMuster. We've tried to keep it plain and honest, no dark patterns.
Who we are
RideMuster is run by Andrew Barber, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, trading as "RideMuster". For anything in this policy, we are the "data controller" responsible for your personal data. You can reach us at info@ridemuster.app.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you submit the early-access sign-up form. That's the only personal detail we ask you for.
- Basic technical data, like your IP address and browser type, which our hosting provider processes automatically to serve and secure the site.
We do not run advertising, behavioural tracking, or analytics
cookies. Your dark-mode preference is stored locally in your browser
(localStorage) and never sent to us.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your email address solely to let you know when RideMuster launches and to share occasional related updates. Our legal basis is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time, see "Your rights" below.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site:
- Kit (ConvertKit), our email service provider, which stores your email address and sends our messages on our behalf. Kit is based in the United States.
- Cloudflare, hosts the website and processes technical data (such as your IP address) to deliver and protect it.
- OpenStreetMap and cdnjs (Cloudflare), if you open the interactive demo ride map on our home page, your browser requests map tiles and code from these providers, which receive your IP address as part of that request.
International transfers
Some providers above (notably Kit) are located outside the UK, in the United States. Where your data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved mechanism.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until RideMuster launches and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to remove it or unsubscribe, whichever comes first. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- request a copy of your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise any of these, email info@ridemuster.app and we'll sort it. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies, so there's no cookie banner to click through. The only thing we store on your device is your theme preference, which is strictly functional. If we add analytics in future, we'll update this policy and ask for consent where required.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
